Charge density
The charge density is the amount of electric charge per unit length, surface area, or volume.
Explanation
Volume charge density (ρ) is the quantity of charge per unit volume, at any point in a volume. It is a vector quantity that plays a role in electromagnetic field theory and thus also in the Maxwell equations.
