In many places you have to keep 1.5 meters distance.

You can write 1.5 as the mixed fraction

That's confusing sometimes. It's an addition, but there's no plus sign anywhere. You only notice that when you square it, because

(1½)² = (1 + ½)² = (1 + ½)(1 + ½) = 1 + ½ + ½ + ¼ = 2¼

which, you can also calculate as

(1.5)² = 1.5 × 1.5 = 2.25
