Motion does not exist
According to the ancient Greek Parmenides of Elea, everything is one, indivisible, unchanging and eternal.
Explanation
If an object were to move anywhere, there should first be empty space (a non-being) there. According to him, this was pretence.
His reasoning was "Thinking and Being are one and the same".
HistoryThe ancient Greek Parmenides (c. 520 BC - 455 BC) tried to explain the idea of existence. |
