Bifurcation theory

The name bifurcation theory is used for changes in the equilibrium behavior of a dynamic system. Hereby deterministic chaos is examined, where disorder emerges in an organized manner.

History

The name "bifurcation" was first introduced by the french mathematician Henri Poincaré in 1885 in a paper showing such a behavior.
