Explanation

The electromagnetic interaction is one of the 4 fundamental forces of nature. The special theory of relativity describes that electromagnetic radiation does not need a medium.

 


History

Danish physicist Hans Christian Ørsted discovered a correlation of electricity and magnetism in 1820.
