Graphene

Graphene consists of a single layer of carbon atoms arranged on a grid with a honeycomb structure.

Explanation

It is more than 200 times stronger than steel, an excellent thermal and electrical conductor, flexible, very thin and transparent.

History

In 2004, the Russian physicists Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov succeeded in insulating a layer of graphene, simply with tape.
