Hebrew numerals
The old Jews used their alphabet to express hebrew numerals. It began with

what corresponds with the arabic numerals

Zero
There is no 0. There's been discussion for centuries whether or not 0 is a number. Today we call it a number, and for writing decimal numbers we need it.
Large numbers
The Jews had no decimal system. Because of that there were also letters for large numbers
