Imaginary mass

In quantum physics, an imaginary mass is used.

Explanation

Imaginary mass is not imaginary in the sense that it is unreal or made-up, it is simply expressed in terms of imaginary numbers.

Example 1

Because of the higgs field, other particles get mass. Higgsbosons therefore have an imaginary mass in their uncondensed phase.
