From the definition of the logarithm follows

x = e^ln x   ⇒   1 = e^ln 1 = e⁰   ⇒   ln 1 = 0

or

x = 10^log x   ⇒   1 = 10^log 1 = 10⁰   ⇒   log 1 = 0
