Majorana description

The Majorana description is a representation of a general spin n state for which the points on the Riemann sphere are all at either the north or the south pole

Explanation

Those particles with half-integer spins, such as 1/2, 3/2, 5/2 are known as fermions, while those particles with integer spins, such as 0, 1, 2 are known as bosons.

 


History

The Italian physicist Ettore Majorana (1906 - 1959 ?) proposed this description of spin.
