Parity (even and odd)

The parity of a natural number is the remainder when divided by two. Thus, it indicates whether a number is even or odd.

Explanation

An even number is a multiple of two. Integers that are not even are called odd numbers. As a consequence, even numbers can be divided by 2. The number zero is even, as it is equal to 2 multiplied by 0.
