The Chinese Phonetic Alphabet allows you to represent the Chinese language using Latin letters.

It is a phonetic system. There are programs that let you enter Pinyin into a computer and convert Chinese characters to Pinyin.

With a graphical system based on radicals (such as the Tsang-chieh input method), you can type much faster and make fewer mistakes.

Today, Pinyin is used almost everywhere in the world, but especially in mainland China. There are many different versions.
