Prime twin

The prime twins find their origin in the complex numbers.

 


Explanation

In the table of prime twins the numbers −1, 0 and +1 are shown, because they form the starting point for all primes. You can write that as

−1 0 1

Because the number −1 is not on the number circle you can also write it with the imaginary unit as

i2 0 1

Another variant in which squares occur can be written as

i2 0 12

To clarify the cyclic structure of numbers, you can write it with Euler's identity as

eiπ 0 e2iπ
