Times tables
In school we all had to learn the multiplication tables. By every person they are stored in the brain in the same place. If you don't know the tables it means that this spot in your brain is not used.
Of course it is better to use your brains frequently.
Explanation
There is another table that you have not learned separately. It is about squares.
0 × 0 = 0
1 × 1 = 1
2 × 2 = 4
3 × 3 = 9
4 × 4 = 16
5 × 5 = 25
6 × 6 = 36
7 × 7 = 49
8 × 8 = 64
9 × 9 = 81
10 × 10 = 100
11 × 11 = 121
12 × 12 = 144
These squares form a diagonal in the table of Pythagoras.
