Display screen
On a Casio calculator you can display both the formulas and the result on the screen. You can also draw graphs and tables.

Display area
The display area shows the formulas, graphs, tables and error messages. The text screen can show 21 columns and 8 lines of characters, with the bottum line used for the function key menu bar. The graph screen uses an area that mesures 127 × 83 dots. Press EXIT to close the graph screen and return to normal operation.
Menu bar
Use the function keys F1 - F6 to access the menus and commands in the menu bar along the bottum of the display screen. You can tell whether a menu bar item is a menu or a command by its appearance:
1. White: the operation is executed.
2. Black: the function will be displayed on screen.
3. Black with a turned corner: the screen will be updated and further input is required.
Scrollbar
Some menus consist of multiple screens. The symbol ↑ or ↓ is then visible to indicate that you can scroll to the next screen with the cursor keys.
Cursor
The cursor indicates the current location on the screen. It has the shape of a vertical bar l in insert mode and changes to an horizontal bar ⚊ in overwrite mode. In a formula it can also have the shape of a square ▯. Sometimes the shape changes to a blinking input cursor ► to indicate that something can be inserted. There can also occur a blinking copy cursor ❐ during the copy operation. Pressing SHIFT gives a blinking S or . Pressing ALPHA gives a blinking A or .
Pointer
In a graph, a pointer is indicated by the cursor shape ✜ in the current location on the screen. This pointer can be moved by the cursor control keys.
